چکیده
Z-shaped folding wings have the potential to enhance flight performance of an aircraft, contingent upon its mission requirements. However, current scope research on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with primarily focuses analysis their structure and aeroelasticity-related vibrations. Computational fluid dynamics methods dynamic meshing are employed examine process wings. By comparing steady aerodynamic characteristics those conventional wings, this investigation explores properties at varying upward speeds. The numerical findings reveal that reduces lift-to-drag ratio, yet simultaneously diminishes nose-down pitching moment, thereby augmenting maneuverability. Concerning unsteady aerodynamics, transient lift drag coefficients folded wing initially increase subsequently decrease as angle increases small angles attack. Likewise, moment exhibits same pattern in response angle. Additionally, experience a slight during initial half increasing speed. Once reaches approximately 40°~45° folding, there is abrupt change coefficients. Notably, delayed higher speeds, eventually converging similar values across different

Aerodynamic characteristics of dragonfly wing sections compared with technical aerofoils.
During gliding, dragonfly wings can be interpreted as acting as ultra-light aerofoils which, for static reasons, have a well-defined cross-sectional corrugation. This corrugation forms profile valleys in which rotating vortices develop. The cross-sectional configuration varies greatly along the longitudinal axis of the wing. This produces different local aerodynamic characteristics. Analyses of...
متن کاملQuad Tilt Wing VTOL UAV: Aerodynamic Characteristics and Prototype Flight
A QTW VTOL UAV, featured tandem tilt wings and propellers mounted at the mid-span of each wing, is one of the most promising UAV configurations having both a VTOL capability and high cruise performance. A small prototype QTW UAV has been constructed to prove the concept and full transition between vertical and horizontal flight has been successfully demonstrated under remote manual control. The...
متن کاملUnsteady aerodynamic forces of a flapping wing.
The unsteady aerodynamic forces of a model fruit fly wing in flapping motion were investigated by numerically solving the Navier-Stokes equations. The flapping motion consisted of translation and rotation [the translation velocity (u(t)) varied according to the simple harmonic function (SHF), and the rotation was confined to a short period around stroke reversal]. First, it was shown that for a...
متن کاملA Practical Method for Investigation of Aerodynamic and Longitudinal Static Stability of Wing-in-Ground Effect
The purpose of this paper is to present a fast, economical and practical method for mathematical modeling of aerodynamic characteristics of rectangular wing-in-ground effect (WIG). Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations were converted to Bernoulli equation by reasonable assumptions. Also Helmbold's equation was developed for calculation of the slope of wing lift coefficient in ground ...
